Kolkata is a city I have returned to repeatedly over more than a decade—first in 2013, followed by visits in 2015, 2019, and 2024. Each journey has revealed new layers of a city where history, culture, and everyday life remain deeply intertwined. Rather than documenting a single moment in time, this long-term project observes Kolkata as it continues to evolve while retaining its distinctive character.

The photographs move through the city's streets, markets, neighbourhoods, riverfront, and public spaces, documenting everyday moments that define its rhythm. From North Kolkata's historic lanes and bustling bazaars to quiet rituals along the Hooghly River, tram journeys, tea stalls, and spontaneous encounters, the project explores the people and places that shape the city's identity.

Created over multiple visits, this documentary series reflects an ongoing engagement with Kolkata, capturing both its enduring traditions and the subtle changes that unfold over time.
