Since 2013, I have been documenting the Mayana Kollai Festival in Kaveripattinam, Tamil Nadu, one of the region's most intense and visually striking ritual festivals dedicated to Goddess Angalamman. Celebrated each year with deep devotion, the festival transforms the town through elaborate body paint, symbolic costumes, ritual performances, and acts of faith that have been passed down through generations.

This long-term documentary project follows the festival from the intimate preparations inside the temple to the powerful rituals that unfold in the streets and cremation grounds. The photographs explore the people, traditions, and spiritual practices that continue to shape Mayana Kollai, documenting a living cultural heritage that remains deeply rooted in the community.
