For more than a decade, I have been making close black-and-white portraits during my travels across India. Most of the people in these photographs are strangers I met only once, yet each portrait represents a brief moment of trust and human connection.
Drawn to faces and, above all, the expressive power of the eyes, I often ask people to look directly into the camera. In that quiet exchange, the portrait becomes more than a photograph—it becomes a shared moment between two strangers.
Created since 2010, this long-term documentary portrait project brings together encounters from streets, villages, festivals, and everyday life. Each image is a simple record of presence, preserving a connection that lasted only a few moments but continues through the photograph.
